Volunteers Needed!
York College needs your help with three items.
A speaker is needed to talk about needs assessment. The goal is to have the Human Resource Development students hear about how a real organization goes through this process. The target date is February 11th (3 - 4PM) but it is flexible.
In addition, a speaker is needed to talk to management students about "contemporary organizational design" (teams, self managed teams, virtual work, telecommuting, etc). That would be later in the semester.
Interviewees for HR students are needed. In the Introductory HR class students must interview an HR professional and write a report summarizing the interview.
The assignment serves several purposes: it gives the students an opportunity to interact with a professional and practice their interpersonal skills; it allows students to see & hear how organizations put theory into practice; it gives students a view into a particular industry/company; and it gives them one more person in their professional network.
The interview takes about 45-60 minutes.
