The York Society for Human Resource Management as developed an award program to recognize excellence in the human resources profession. Nominations are currently being accepted for the York SHRM HR Professional of the Year Award.
Eligibility Requirements:
1. Current member of York SHRM
2. Employed in the field of human resources
How to Nominate Someone:
· Submit the online nomination form by February 3, 2013 at 5pm.
· Self-nominations are accepted.
Post-Nomination Process:
· Nominations will be reviewed by the York SHRM Nomination Committee – the committee will choose the Top 3 Nominees by February 28th. Criteria for determining the Top 3 Nominees will include:
- Evidence of furthering the HR profession
- Overall contributions and involvement in the workplace and the community.
· The Top 3 Nominees will receive a request for additional information that must be submitted to Carolyn Lerew (see contact information below) by 5 pm on March 15th.
- Requested information will include a more detailed accounting of leadership qualities, and community involvement.
- Failure to submit the requested information by 5pm on March 15th will result in removal from consideration for the award.
· The York SHRM Executive Committee will choose the Award winner – decisions will be based on the following criteria:
- Overall contributions to employer
- Involvement in strategic planning
- Leadership qualities
- Community involvement
- Promoting/furthering the HR profession
· The award will be presented at the April York SHRM monthly meeting. The winner receives a personalized plaque and a $100 check card.
