York SHRM is now accepting nominations for leadership positions on the Board of Directors (President, President – Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer) for 2014 Program Year. You may nominate a fellow York SHRM member or self-nominate yourself using the Nomination Form.
Here is a brief summary of the position responsibilities.
PRESIDENT
Provide leadership to the local chapter consistent with state, regional, and SHRM policy, strategies and objectives. Effectively operate the chapter so that the needs of the members are met. Perform other duties as required by the local chapter’s bylaw. Serve as a voting member of the state council.
PRESIDENT - ELECT
Assist the president in overseeing all the activities of the Chapter. In the absence of the president, perform all the presidential responsibilities.
SECRETARY
Take minutes of chapter meetings; provide notice of meetings and general correspondence. Maintain chapter records.
TREASURER
Act as financial officer and advisor to chapter board of directors. Maintain the chapter mailbox and distribute mail to the appropriate officer, director, or chair. Send dues notices and other invoices to members. File appropriate forms and information with IRS.
Please return the attached form to jleonard@rhsheppard.com by October 4, 2013. Slate of officers will be announced during the November meeting with elections following thereafter in November.
Office is assumed in January with installation of officers occurring in December.
